- 1540年左右進(jìn)入英語，直接源自拉丁語的consultare，意為采納建議。
用法辨析
- consult的基本意思是為了作出一項(xiàng)決定、取得一項(xiàng)解決辦法而進(jìn)行對(duì)話或討論?？梢允菃蜗虻?即“請(qǐng)教”“咨詢”; 也可以是雙向的,即“商議”“商量”。無論是“咨詢”還是“商量”,雙方地位都是平等的。引申可以表示向書本咨詢,即“翻閱”“查考”資料,也可以表示向自己咨詢,即“考慮”“顧及”。
- consult可用作不及物動(dòng)詞,也可用作及物動(dòng)詞。作“請(qǐng)教”解時(shí)多接人作賓語; 作“翻閱”解時(shí)常接書、詞典、地圖等作賓語; 作“考慮”解時(shí)其賓語多為抽象名詞。表示“與…商量”可接介詞with; 表示請(qǐng)教或商議的一般內(nèi)容可接介詞about,重大或特殊內(nèi)容則接介詞on; 而接介詞for時(shí)則表示“為…當(dāng)顧問”。
- consult極少用于被動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu)。
- consult sb表示“向某人請(qǐng)教”，這里的sb也可換成sth，如書本。例：consult the book（向書請(qǐng)教）；
- consult with sb表示“同某人商量”，這里對(duì)象只能是人，因其他物體如書不會(huì)說話；
