reach的基本意思是指人“到達(dá)”某地,引申可表示某人與其他人“達(dá)成”了一致的意見、協(xié)議等; 用于指物可表示某條道路、路線等“延伸”至某一地方,引申可表示某消息、影響“傳到”某處。
reach既可用作不及物動(dòng)詞,也可用作及物動(dòng)詞。用作及物動(dòng)詞時(shí),接名詞或代詞作賓語,還可接雙賓語,其間接賓語可以轉(zhuǎn)化為介詞for的賓語。用作不及物動(dòng)詞時(shí),常與after, for, to等介詞連用。
reach可用于被動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu)。
