基本解釋

stoop的基本意思是“彎腰,俯首”,有時(shí)指彎曲膝蓋來(lái)降低身體的高度,而頭部和軀干仍舊是挺直的。引申可作“屈尊,降格,墮落”解。還可指從較高的道德水平降到較低的道德水平或行為標(biāo)準(zhǔn)而作出不光彩的舉動(dòng)。
stoop可用作及物動(dòng)詞,也可用作不及物動(dòng)詞。用作及物動(dòng)詞時(shí)接名詞或代詞作賓語(yǔ)。
stoop用作不及物動(dòng)詞時(shí)常接動(dòng)詞不定式作目的狀語(yǔ),可直譯為“彎腰做…”,還可引申譯為“屈尊去做…”。
stoop后可接“to+sth/ v -ing”結(jié)構(gòu),意思是“降低身份作出…”“墮落到…程度”。
